Recreation Advisory Commission

The advisory committee is composed of a maximum of thirteen (13) citizens of the Town. Two (2) members of this advisory committee are to composed of high school students whose terms are be for no more than two (2) years. The Town Council shall appoint one (1) member from its board to serve as an ex-officio member of the advisory committee. Each member of the advisory committee shall be appointed by the Town Council. Members shall be appointed for three (3) years and until their successors quality for office.

The parks and recreation advisory committee shall serve as the advisory body for the department of parks and recreation and the Town. The advisory committee shall suggest policies to the department, the manager and the Town Council, within its powers and responsibilities as stated in this article. The advisory committee shall consult with and advise the department, the manager and the Town Council in matters affecting parks and recreation policies, programs, personnel, finances and the acquisition and disposal of lands and properties related to the total community parks and recreation program and its long-range projected program for parks and recreation. This advisory committee meets the third Tuesday of each month, 7:00 a.m. There is no compensation.
