In an effort to better protect your personal property and decrease property crimes in the Town of Smithfield, please review the following helpful measures to secure your property and belongings.

  • Make sure all vehicle doors are locked when parked and accessible to the public.
  • Make sure all valuables (GPS equipment, laptops, purses, etc) are removed from vehicles and not left unattended.
  • Make sure all doors and windows to your home are locked and secured when you are leaving your place of residence for any period of time.
Make sure all outside storage facilities are locked.
  • Make sure all lawn mowers, weed trimmers, tillers, bikes etc. are secured and out of public view.
The Smithfield Police Department will gladly assist residents with an audit of their property and offer suggestions on how residents might decrease their chances of becoming a victim of a property crime.
