Hurricane Florence Update

Please see the following updates so that we may possibly answer any questions in advance. Notices will include any updates available from each of our departments.
Operating as normal. For any Utility outages or concerns, please call 919-934-1117.
Some overflows and backups are expected over the next few days. We believe The Neuse River crested at 18.9 feet and is now at a level of 18.6 feet.
Safety and Emergency Services:
For any emergencies, please call 911.
Crews are working diligently to remove debris. Please place any limbs, etc. by the curb. We will focus on sanitation first and appearance secondly. However, we will do our best to remove and improve all quickly.
Parks & Recreation:
The Greenway has been closed until further notice due to flooding – expected to be closed all of this week. The Smithfield Recreation and Aquatic Center is now operating at normal hours.
Johnston County Schools are closed Monday and Tuesday and Neuse Charter School is closed on Monday.
There is no curfew in effect for the Town of Smithfield.
