Hurricane Florence Update

Please see the following updates so that we may possibly answer any questions in advance. Notices will include any updates available from each of our departments.
For any Utility outages or concerns, please call 919-934-1117. All outages will be addressed as quickly as possible and as safety allows.
Some overflows and backups are expected over the next few days. We will try to notify everyone as quickly as possible once we know. The Neuse River has risen to 18.4 feet. The current prediction is the river will crest at approximately 19 feet this evening. This should not compromise operations or safety. For any Utility outages or concerns, please call 919-934-1117.
Safety and Emergency Services:
For any emergencies, please call 911.
Trash and yard debris services from Friday were moved to this coming Wednesday. Monday trash services will be delayed approximately 2-3 hours due to the Johnston County Landfill having a delayed opening.
Parks & Recreation:
The Greenway has been closed until further notice due to flooding. The Smithfield Recreation and Aquatic Center is expected to re-open at 8am on Monday.
Johnston County Schools are closed Monday and Tuesday and Neuse Charter School is closed on Monday.
There is no curfew in effect for the Town of Smithfield.
