The Town of Smithfield is excited to announce its participation in the inaugural Local Government Career Expo, happening on June 8, 2024 from 1-4 p.m., at the NC State McKimmon Center in Raleigh. Dubbed the “LOGO Career Expo,” this event is designed to facilitate comprehensive career exploration, professional networking, skill enhancement, and strategic career planning, with an emphasis on transferable skills.

Representatives from over 40 local government entities, including the Town of Smithfield, will showcase a wide array of career opportunities spanning various fields such as public safety, business administration, human resources, technology, and more.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend breakout sessions and workshops dedicated to crafting resumes, mastering professional attire, and perfecting elevator pitches. 

The expo is geared towards individuals seeking career advancement, mid-career professionals, those contemplating a career change, or anyone curious about exploring fresh and exciting opportunities within the local government sector. Follow-up communication from participating employers can also be anticipated.
