The Town of Smithfield will hold its annual Earth Day Litter Clean-Up on Saturday, April 25th, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Held in conjunction with the NCDOT Litter Sweep, volunteers will begin at three starting points across Smithfield: 

• Sarah Yard Community Center, 909 E. Lee Street 
• Bob Wallace Jaycee Kiddie Park, 350 S. Front Street 
• Smithfield Community Park, 600 M. Durwood Stephenson Parkway 

During last year’s cleanup events, NCDOT employees, Adopt-A-Highway groups and other volunteers from across the state removed almost 20 million pounds of litter from North Carolina roadways.

In addition with assisting in Smithfield’s Spring Clean-Up, civic organizations, businesses, churches, schools, and other groups are encouraged to continue to serve by participating in our adopt-a-street program to help continually keep our roadways clean.
