Report A Power Outage

The Town of Smithfield has a Nexgrid system that automatically alerts us to outages, but you can call us to make us aware of the location of your outage. Please be aware that we may not be able to give you specific answers about why an outage occurred or when power will be restored. There are many factors involved in repairing an outage, but we will work diligently, quickly and safely to get power restored

Planned Power Outage

Occasionally, the Town of Smithfield will schedule a necessary “Planned Power Outage” in order to perform maintenance and equipment upgrades to the electrical system.  Because we are aware of how inconvenient power outages can be, we make every effort to keep these outages as brief as possible.  We also try to make every attempt to notify our customers in advance by leaving door hangers, posts on social media and updating our website.
