The Johnston County Board of Elections will host Early Voting for the 2025 Municipal Election from October 16 – November 1 at their office, located at 205 S. Second Street, Smithfield, NC 27577.

Early Voting Schedule:

•  Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
•  Saturday, November 1: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

 In addition, residents and candidates are reminded of the rules for political signs. Signs must be erected in accordance with North Carolina law (G.S. § 136-32) and Town ordinances. Key regulations include:

•  Signs must be placed at least 3 feet from the edge of the pavement.
•  Signs may not obscure motorists’ visibility or block/interfere with another sign.
•  No sign may be larger than 864 square inches.
•  Signs must be removed no later than 10 days after the election.

We encourage all citizens to participate in this important election and to follow the sign regulations to ensure safety and fairness.
