Now in its 43rd year, National Night Out is an annual campaign that strengthens relationships between law enforcement, first responders, and the communities they serve through an evening of family-friendly activities and public safety engagement.
The free event will feature:
- Pizza and hot dogs
- Snow cones and popcorn
- Bounce houses
- Petting zoo
- K9 demonstrations
- Fire sprinkler demonstration
- Police, fire, and emergency vehicle displays
"National Night Out gives residents an opportunity to meet the people who serve and protect our community in a relaxed setting," said Public Information Officer Brian Eaves. "Those conversations help build trust, strengthen partnerships, and reinforce our shared commitment to keeping Smithfield a safe place to live."
The event is hosted by the Smithfield Police Department with support from the Smithfield Fire Department, Johnston County Sherrif’s Office, Johnston County EMS, Selma Police & Fire Departments, North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, Johnston County Animal Services, and community sponsors Stevens Sausage, and LifeSpring Church.
