The Town of Smithfield is proud to host National Night Out 2025 on Tuesday, August 5th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Smithfield Community Park, located at 600 M. Durwood Stephenson Parkway. Introduced in 1984, National Night Out is a nationwide community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live. Last year, 38 million people in 17,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide participated in the event.
This family-friendly experience is free and open to the public, offering an evening full of entertainment and engagement, including:
- Free food
- Bounce houses
- A petting zoo
- K9 demonstrations
- Police and emergency vehicle displays
- Crime prevention and safety booths
- Giveaways and more
National Night Out is sponsored by the Smithfield Police Department, in partnership with the Selma and Wilson’s Mills Police Departments, Smithfield and Selma Fire Departments, Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, Johnston County EMS, North Carolina Highway Patrol, North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, Stevens Sausage, and Lifespring Church.
