Eligible Employees

  • Full-time employees and Part-time employees working 20 hours or more per week
  • Eligible employees can contribute the first day of employment.






Town of Smithfield

  • Optional – Town matches up to 3% (pays mandatory 5% minimum for LEOs)




  • Employee contributions must be made in whole percentages only.
  • Minimum contribution = 1%
  • Maximum annual contribution is 80% of your gross salary or $17,000 if under age 50 for 2012.
  • If over age 50, catch-up contribution maximum of $5,500 for 2012.
